Texas Chainsaw Massacre

I find it strange that this trailer doesn’t seem to be available on Netflix’s YouTube account, but anyway, this looks fine from what I could tell. Not a lot to go on aside from aesthetics, which do seem fairly on point. I don’t know much about director David Blue Garcia, but Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues both have story credit, and if there’s anyone I can trust to bring some serious grime to this franchise, it’s those two. The quality of these films have not been great following the second film, but I’ll be cautiously optimistic about this.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre hits Netflix on February 18th 2022.

Shattered

This looks incredibly silly, but it could make for a pretty fun time. The actors look like they’re having a good time, and sometimes that translates to the overall experience. This almost looks like it should be a Netflix release, they’ve made quite a few of these corny thrillers. Yeah, not much else to say here. If the word on it is any good, I might check it out, or he’ll, if the word on it is really bad, that might make me more interested. Hard to say now.

Shattered opens in select theaters and VOD platforms on January 14th, 2022.

The Pink Cloud

I’ve seen a few films that were made before the COVID-19 lockdowns that somehow managed to capture the experience we all had, and honestly, I’m not super impressed. If you write a scenario about people being stuck at home during a lockdown, it’s not like there’s a ton of things you can do and explore as a storyteller, of course it’s gonna capture our experiences during 2020/2021, there wasn’t much to it unless you were directly affected by the virus itself. This trailer just isn’t doing much for me to alleviate my skepticism, but I’ll give it a shot.

The Pink Cloud hits select theaters on January 14th 2022.

Raised By Wolves (Season 2)

https://youtu.be/uhUTqO4Ci68

I really loved Raised By Wolves, and I liked how it weaves in spiritual and religious themes within its sci-fi setting. The actors are terrific, it looks great, and I was just really sucked into the story. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the new season, and I’m liking what I’m seeing here. If you have HBO Max, you should definitely give this a look, it’s great.

Raised By Wolves (Season 2) will premiere on HBO Max on February 3rd 2022.

Peacemaker

This looks less like it’s set in the world of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and more closer to the vibe of James Gunn’s Super, which is alright with me because I love Super. Admittedly, I wasn’t sure what the appeal of a Peacemaker show was when I saw The Suicide Squad, but this does look like a fairly compelling character piece that is surrounded by a zany superhero story. I love Gunn’s work in general, so I’m definitely excited to check this out.

Peacemaker will debut on HBO Max on January 13th 2022.

MacGruber

It’s nice to know that you have at least one thing in common with Christopher Nolan when it comes to your shared appreciation for the comedic stylings of Macgruber. I dug the movie, and I was excited when I heard that a show was going to be made. I guess I’ll finally have a reason to subscribe to Peacock.

MacGruber begins streaming December 16th on Peacock.
