We have the new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp. You can check that out right here.

That looks rather delightful if I do say so myself.

It’s actually a really smart move for Marvel to release this after the large scale and emotionally draining experience of Avengers: Infinity War (here’s my spoiler review in case you haven’t read it). I really enjoyed the first Ant-Man. It was a refreshing change of pace that kept the stakes personal. Plus, seeing Paul Rudd as a superhero is just one of those things that’s just inherently enjoyable, even if the movie didn’t live up to it, though thankfully it did. Peyton Reed is a huge part of that, and I’m glad he’s returning to direct.

Here’s the synopsis according to the official website:

“In the aftermath of ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.”

So, not a lot of new information is given in the trailer aside from glimpses of the possible adversaries. However, I like that the trailer doesn’t give us too much information about what’s going on, and instead showcases a lot of the characters we’ll be seeing, old and new alike. I don’t have a ton of familiarity with the comic book character, so I can’t comment on what the significance of the villain or anything like that is. All I can say is that I like what I see.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be released on July 6th.

Any thoughts on the trailer? Will it work as a good palate cleanser after Infinity War? Feel free to discuss in the comments!
