Good news, everyone!
If you’re like me, you were hoping we would see more Xander Cage shenanigans, and it looks like those hopes will soon be a reality. A report from Variety stated that Vin Diesel (with his company One Race Films) and The H Collective have purchased the full rights to the xXx franchise from Revolution Studios.
Now that they have full control, they have moved forward with a fourth installment that will go into production in December, with the director of xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, D.J. Caruso, returning to helm the new one.
I had a great time with Return of Xander Cage. Not only was it the delightfully bonkers action spectacle that I had hoped it would be, it was also cool to see a franchise like this bring together a very diverse cast, and allowing each of them to shine. This might not be the smartest blockbuster franchise out there, but its inclusivity certainly makes it more forward thinking than others.
Stay tuned as more details get released.
