Trailer Talk: Ghosted, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, and more!

Ghosted

Gotta say, I was not really that excited for this when I saw the truly terrible poster that was posted the other day. But you know what, I’m pretty charmed by this. It’s cool to see Chris Evans play the kind of role he would’ve played in the early to mid 2000s. Though, I wish they at least made some effort to make him look like an average Joe. Still, Dexter Fletcher is a director I trust, and this looks amusing, so I’ll be looking forward to this.

Ghosted premieres exclusively on Apple TV+ on April 21st.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

It’s wild to me how this feels like the first time I’m watching a TMNT project where the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are actually acting like…you know…teenagers! This looks awesome, I love the aesthetics, how it feels like hand drawn animation but in a 3D space. The designs are cool, the dynamic between the Turtles are great. This has really jumped up in terms of anticipation.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem hits theaters on August 4th.

Haunted Mansion

This looks pretty cool. There is a part of me that wishes Guillermo del Toro was able to make the version he was going to do, but I’m definitely curious to see Justin Simien’s take, and it’ll be interesting to see how he handles a big production like this. It looks amusing enough, and the cast in particular is stacked. So, fingers crossed this one turns out alright.

Haunted Mansion opens in theaters on July 28th.

How To Blow Up A Pipeline

Finally! Been waiting for a trailer for a long time. Ever since this had its festival premiere, I’ve been eager to check it out, everything about it seems like it would be right up my alley. And this trailer does look tense. I enjoyed Cam quite a bit, so it’s cool to see the director expand on the scope of a project like that into something like this. Very excited for this.

How To Blow Up A Pipeline hits select theaters on April 7th.

Tori And Lokita

I haven’t seen all of the films from the Dardenne brothers, and what I have has been both good and not-so-good, in my opinion. That said, this is a very compelling trailer, the actors look great, it looks to be very topical and harrowing and well made. I haven’t taken a look at the word-of-mouth on this one, but if the word is strong, I’ll definitely give it a look.

Tori And Lokita opens in select theaters starting March 24th.

The Tutor

I like me a good stalker thriller, and I feel like it’s been a while since we had a really good one. I don’t think I’ve seen anything from director Jordan Ross, so I wouldn’t know what to expect, but I’ve seen these actors do good work, and if the material gives them something to chew on, we might have something fun here. I’ll keep my eye out.

The Tutor will be released in select theaters on March 24th.
