That certainly looks intense. I imagine the opioid crisis will probably be one of those subjects that will inform a lot of stories in the coming years. Earlier this year we had Inherit The Viper, which I thought was fairly solid. This also looks pretty intriguing to me
Castle In The Ground hits VOD platforms on May 15th.
It’s a really slow week for trailers. I’ve seen this already, and I got a review coming out on Monday. So, keep an eye out for that when it comes out.
Arkansas will be available on home video and VOD platforms on May 5th..
I have no idea what to make of this, but I think I like it, or at the very least, it looks kind of interesting to me. I haven’t heard of this one before, so I know about as much about it as you do right now. I am intrigued though. It looks vibrant and weird and funny. It looks like something different, which is always compelling to me.
We Are Little Zombies will be released later this year on a currently unspecified date..
I’m into it. I will always be into any period piece like this that actually acknowledges how weird, gross, and pervy folks at that time and in position of power really were, as opposed to the clean and sanitized vision of that era we usually see in costume dramas. I’m not familiar with the works of Albert Serra, but if the critic blurbs here are of any indication, he is someone I should start looking into.
Liberté opens in Film at Lincoln Center’s Virtual Cinema on May 1st before it expands on May 8th.
Thoughts on any of the trailers? Feel free to discuss in the comments!
A quick note: I am grateful to everyone who comes over, and reads my stuff. I hope it provides some kind of distraction from all the things that are happening out there because of the COVID-19 situation. Having said that, my usual source of income is gone because of the pandemic, so while I am thankfully in a slightly better position than most, any contribution to my PayPal (which you can do so here) would be greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas for incentives for people who donate, I’m all ears, feel free to get in touch. Obviously, you don’t have to if you don’t want to, only give if you are able, and of course prioritize the ones in need around you. Stay safe, and thanks to anyone who donates!
