I saw Chained For Life from this director before, which also starred Adam Pearson, and liked it quite a bit. So, I’m glad to see them re-team, and tackle another odd little story. It looks compelling for sure, and Sebastian Stan is a wildly engaging performer, so seeing him work in something like this is really cool, and I really look forward to checking it out.
A Different Man will hit theaters on September 10th.
This looks wonderful. Obviously, there’s a lot of anticipation for this, not only because it’s the latest from Sean Baker, but it also won the Palme d’Or at the most recent Cannes Film Festival. I’ve heard a lot of great things about it, and I’ve enjoyed Baker’s work quite a bit, so I’m very excited to see this one.
Anora hits theaters on October 18th.
I’ve been looking forward to a new film from Coralie Fargeat ever since I saw and loved Revenge. It was such a wild experience seeing that with a crowd, and from the looks of it, she isn’t the one to hold back when it comes to her movies. While this certainly looks less violent, it does seem equally out there, and wild and energetic. Bringing this kind of vibe to female-centric stories seem to be her thing, and I’m so glad we have a new one coming. I can’t wait to see it.
The Substance opens in select theaters on September 20th.
This looks fine and all, but…is it just me or does this look more like another Disney+ show and not a theatrically released film? I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s just something about the look of this trailer that feels distinctly un-cinematic, more than these movies usually are. But anyway, I did like The Falcon And The Winter Soldier well enough, so it’ll be cool to see them explore this area of the MCU again. We’ll see how it turns out.
Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters on February 14th 2025.
This looks really good! I love movies about friendships, and I like stories that span over a period of time where you get to hang out with the characters and be a part of their lives. I’m surprised I haven’t heard of this until the trailer came out. I haven’t seen Tina Mabry’s first film, Mississippi Damned, but I’ll have to look into it. I really like the vibe of this, and I’m curious to see what her debut film is like. Also, this cast is really stacked. This has definitely shot up my list of anticipated films.
The Supremes At Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat opens in theaters on August 23rd.
I think John Crowley is a strong director, and while I haven’t seen all his stuff, he has a strong sense of character and intimacy. I enjoyed Brooklyn quite a bit in particular. This looks great to me, and I like both Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh as well, and it looks like their roles here are quite meaty. It’s been a while since we got a good tearjerker, so this might be the one to look forward to.
We Live In Time will be released in theaters on October 11th.
