Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them did not suit my fancy one bit. I found it to be a bore that didn’t expand the Harry Potter universe in interesting ways. Plus, the overblown CG sheen of the whole thing is not doing the movie any favors. But since it made money, and they already planned a whopping five of these, we have a sequel. During the Warner Brothers presentation at the San Diego Comic-Con, they released a new trailer for the film. Here it is:
Nothing super surprising here. I suppose it is nice to be back at Hogwarts, and I’m curious to see Jude Law’s interpretation of the Dumbledore, even if it is annoying that the film won’t do anything to explore his sexuality, which I know a lot of fans were upset about. However, it also looks like more of the same, and I’m still not a fan of Johnny Depp’s inclusion here.
As a trailer, it is more enticing than the previous one. That carriage chase in the sky? Awesome.
But ultimately, I’m not totally sold on it. But if you are, I hope it lives up to your expectations.
