I’m sure everyone is excited for whatever Danny Boyle does with the next Bond film, but before that even gets into production, he is teaming up with writer, Richard Curtis, for a comedy with musical elements. Since announcing, we have found out that Lily James and Himesh Patel have joined the cast. But now, there’s a new talent currently in talks – Kate McKinnon.
Here’s what was said in the report from Variety:
“Most plot details are being kept under wraps, but it will be music-themed and set in the 1960s or ’70s. Details of McKinnon’s character are also currently unknown.”
So, even though the she hasn’t officially signed on, it does seem to be leaning that she will join.
I’ve been excited when I heard Boyle and Curtis were collaborating, but this is a very cool addition, if things go through. Kate McKinnon is an extremely gifted comedic performer, and I’m curious as to what this movie is going to be, and if her character is going to be someone like some of the more theatrical characters, or if it will give her an opportunity to explore new places. Either way, this is really interesting and unexpected news.
Does this make you more excited for the film or less? Sound off in the comments below.
