Well, it finally happened, the 94th Academy Awards has come and gone. I was a bit busy last night, so I didn’t see the telecast. I can’t imagine having missed much. Anyway, here are the complete list of winners.

Yeah, as usual, mostly all expected. Even with the ones I wouldn’t have preferred winning, I still see why they won. I’d say Dune, as much as I was indifferent towards that film as a whole, definitely deserved most of the wins it received here. I would have liked to have seen Flee take one trophy, preferably Best Animated Feature, but it’s hard to fight against the Disney machine in that category.
It’s been a great year for movies, but as far as the Oscars go, it still feels very much business as usual, and even more bland than usual, at least speaking purely in terms of the winners here. I don’t have a ton of strong feelings about anything here. I’m just glad it’s all over with, and we can move on to making silly predictions about what’s going to get nominated next year.
